Music therapy is a professional treatment that uses music to enhance the wellness of wellbeing through relieving pain, emotional expression, improving memory, communication and physical rehabilitation. Research show that such treatment is effective towards children or adults with disabilities or illnesses.

Karen Kwok graduated from University of Toronto (Canada) with an honour bachelor degree in Psychology and Music, and a Master’s degree in Music Therapy and Gerontology certificate from Western Michigan University (U.S.A.).  She received Royal Conservatory of music Grade 10 piano certificate with first class honour, and is accredited with the Canadian Association of Music Therapy and the Certification Board for Music Therapist (U.S.A.) since 2004.  Karen is also registered with the College of Psychotherapist since 2016. During her school years, she was the recipient of three academic scholarship awards in Michigan, and had served as research assistant in University of Toronto for the Psychology department and Western Michigan University for the Gerontology department
