Social Skills

Here at the Hope Center, we provide small groups for children to practice social skills.

Social skills group

Groups are specially designed to create supportive environments for students to
practice social skills. The groups are assigned based on age range and involve both
outdoor and indoor settings to encourage social interaction, developing friendships and
to build interests in various leisure activities.
For children, youths, and teens with autism, peer and support groups are available. The
primary focus would be to assist with strengthening communication skills and building
social skills while interacting with others – playing, socializing, and making friends.

Art Social Group:

Our main social group focuses on teaching students art skill, allowing them to develop their fine-motor abilities in a calm, welcoming environment where they can make friends.  In addition to teaching children art principles and techniques, from colour theory to clay sculpting, our art social group gives students a structured setting for interacting with each other, which is shown to help autistic children with their social abilities.
