Job Summary

As a respite worker, you will be expected to be the primary care provider for vulnerable child. You will be required to work with individuals with autism between the ages of 3-12 years of age, who may require your help with daily functions such as eating, drinking, and hygiene. You will be responsible for their safety, comfort and communicate with the center and the parents any concerns regarding the child.

Qualifications and Skills

• One year of childcare experience would be an asset.
• A degree in psychology or a related field or a diploma in a behavioural science program would be an asset.
• Candidate must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, a vehicle and be willing to travel throughout GTA, York Region, and Durham Region.
• First Aid and CPR certifications
• Proven attendance record.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
• Caring, patient, friendly and professionally.
• Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging environment.
• Other languages would be an asset.
