Student Placement

Summary

As a placement student, you will be shadowing an Instructor Therapist who is implementing intensive behaviour intervention (IBI), based on the principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA). You will be required to work with individuals with autism between the ages of 3-12 years of age, either one- on- one or in a group setting under supervision. You will be working with Senior Therapist and Instructor Therapist for delivering direct service, preparing teaching materials and monitoring the learner’s progress through data collection as needed. Since you are under the supervision of the Instructor Therapist, you are expected to keep up with the schedule of the child.

Qualifications

  • A degree in psychology or a related field or a diploma in a behavioural science program
  • Proven attendance record
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Caring, patient, friendly and professionally
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging environment
  • Other languages would be an asset
